Astrology over simplified!

Human nature is such that it is constantly thinking about the future, questions like will I be successful in future are constantly cropping up in human mind. To get a hint about the future the help of Astrology is taken. These days there are a lot of sign based predictions all over internet, newspaper, magazines etc. For some people the first thing they do in the morning is look for these predictions. If we pondor over these predictions than one thing is too evident about these, that there are only twelve zodiac signs so all the world population can have only twelve different kind of future. On the top of that there is confusion that which sign should be considered the sign of a person. Is it Sun's sign, Moon sign or just assumed upon the date of birth. But still the sign based predictions is having credibility. The reason for this behaviour is that we like to have short cuts in life. We want good future and want to read the same in Astrological consultations.

Future is essentially the result of our past and present deeds. Past deeds we have no control over, thus the results of the past deeds can be deciphered using Kundli Chart. When it comes to our deeds in our current life, no astrologer can predict what's going to be the result of those. Another factor is Grace of God, this does not necessarily means that a person himself worshipped god and got that grace, it can be someone else worshipping for him. Like mothers rarely pray for themselves, they generally ask wellbeing of their children. Keeping all this in consideration is necessary while predicting someone's future. This is what makes it a complex science.

This does not mean that Astrology has no truth in it, there is a defined way in Astrology, through which future can be predicted with some accuracy. However the process is not so simple, it's actually very complex. The process is so big that it's out of the scope of this article, but still if we just simplify (not over simplify) the process than some light can be thrown upon the process.

Lagna Kundli: This is the basis of predictions, here we need to see which planet is placed in which sign and in which house. What is the strength of each planet. What yoga's are being formed, both good and bad. The karakavastha of planets needs to be analysed. The aspects each planet gives needs to be analysed. The conjunction of planets plays a very important role, conjunctions are like mixing chemicals, here it's mixing of planetary energy which creates a new energy. Than dasha has to be seen, than antardasha needs to be analysed. The relationship between dasha and antardasha lord has to be seen. All this will give a basic idea about what's happening and what could happen in a person's life.

Transit and Astakvarga: Apart from Lagna Kundli where planets are fixed, the chart needs to be analysed with respect to transit of planets. This transit is seen with regards to Lagna, the Moon and the planet itself. For example If Jupiter is transiting in Leo sign and the lagna sign of a person is Taurus, than we say Jupiter is transiting the fourth house from Lagna for such a person. Here Jupiter will effect the matters of the fourth house. But how will be it's effect has to be seen with the help of Astakvarga. Astakvarga is a chart in which each planet will give points to each rashi from 0 to 8 points. More points means favourable results, less points means non-favourable results. For example Moon gives 5 points to Aries, while it gives 1 point to Taurus in a person's chart. This means when Moon transits Aries in a person's chart than it would prove beneficial, while in Taurus it would be detrimental. These point differ in each chart, thus the same planet in same rashi will give different results for different charts. But one thing is to remember that transit of planets play a supporting role in a chart, lagana kundli has all the authority, than dasha lord has the authority, than antardasha lord has the authority, than comes transit. For example if in lagana chart of a person marriage is not promised, than neither the good dasha nor good transit can get the person married. Let's take another example, if in a person's chart marriage is promised, the dasha is also favourable, but transit is not favourable, than in such a case the marriage will be delayed till the transit gets favourable. Here transit needs to be seen in the light of Astakvarga points given by a planet along with the position of planets with regards to lagna and the moon.

All this will give some idea to the astrologer, he will than give predictions. Apart from the above there are other things to be seen, like nakshatra, degrees of planets, Navamsha, Dashmansha, Saptansha charts. There are yogini dasha, rashi dasha which gives a good idea. Therefore to start giving predictions just on the basis of sign is just nothing.
